Now to the fun part — the photos! These were taken on a series of hikes around Saguaro Lake, the second largest of the four reservoirs on the Salt River. The Salt River reservoir system is a major water source for the Phoenix metropolitan area. The contrast of the rugged, arid desert landscape with the cerulean water is one of the many delightful surprises of the Salt River.
